The TGRJC CET 2026 eligibility criteria are specific and must be strictly followed by all applicants seeking admission to Telangana Residential Junior Colleges for Intermediate first-year courses. Here is a detailed breakdown of the eligibility requirements:

  1. Residency
  • Must be a resident of Telangana State only.
  • The candidate must have studied in Telangana State throughout their previous education.
  1. Nationality
  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  1. Academic Qualifications
  • Qualifying Exam: Must have passed the SSC (10th standard) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Year of Passing: Must have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt in March/April 2026 (or the respective year of the exam).
    • Candidates who passed in earlier years are NOT eligible; only those appearing/passing in the current academic year can apply.
  • Minimum GPA/Marks:
    • General (OC) and BC candidates: Minimum GPA of 6 in SSC or equivalent exam.
    • SC, ST, and Minority candidates: Minimum GPA of 5 in SSC or equivalent exam.
    • English GPA Requirement: All candidates must have a minimum GPA of 4 in English.
  • Alternative Marks Criteria: Some sources mention a minimum of 50% marks for general and 45% for SC/ST/BC candidates if GPA system is not followed.

  • Maximum Age: Must not exceed 17 years of age as of 31st August 2026.

    • PHC: Minimum 40% disability; seats allotted based on merit among PHC candidates.
    • Sports: Seats allotted based on merit in the entrance test for sports category.
    • CAP: Parent must be ex-service or currently in defense service; seats allotted based on merit in the entrance test. NCC candidates are not eligible under CAP.
